Day 1: Arrival in Prague
Arrival in Prague, one of the most beautiful cities in Europe. Attractions to visit include Prague Castle, Charles Bridge, Old Town, Lesser Town Bridge Towers.
Day 2: Prague to Karlstejn, 19 miles (34km)
Welcome meeting at 8:30 am, introduction to bikes and any adjustments. The first bike route is an easy ride taking you from Prague along the Vltava and Berounka rivers to Karlstejn, formerly known as the Heart of the Kingdom because of the Gothic Castle Karlstejn which was the most important royal castle in the Middle Ages.
Day 3: Circular ride from Karlstejn to Svaty Jan Pod Skalou Valley, 26 miles (42km)
Today you enjoy a moderately easy ride along the Berounka River and the forests of its left bank to Svaty Jan Pod Skalou Valley. You will cycle through the romantic countryside of the Brdy Forests and visit a cave where Saint Ivan the Hermit lived in the 9th century. After returning to Karlstejn, we recommend you take a tour of Karlstejn Castle - built by Charles IV in the mid-14th century as a secure place for the riches of the Czech lands.
Day 4: Circular ride from Karlstejn to Beroun, 21 miles (33km)
Your route today is to Beroun, a medieval town on the Berounka River. On your way, you will pass through the villages of Zadni Treban and Liten to Koneprusy. A visit to the impressive complex of caves is optional, but highly recommended. After lunch, you can enjoy some sightseeing around the historic centre of Beroun. On your way back to Karlstejn, you will cycle along the banks of the picturesque Berounka river.
Day 5: Karlstejn to Prague, 25 miles (40km)
Leaving Larlstejn, you will ride back to Prague alongside the Berounka and Vltava Rivers but by a different route than used on the first riding day. Depending on the time of your arrival back in Prague you may have time to visit some of the attractions you didn’t have time for on your arrival day.
Day 6: Departure from Prague
After breakfast it is time for your departure, unless you are prolonging your holiday in the Czech Republic.
